Hello, everybody! Hope y'all are doing well and staying safe and healthy in these stressful times!

I am rethinking my ways of doing my concealed carry business and wanted to share with you my new "business model". I will continue to offer the initial carry class but on a demand basis. So if you, or anyone, would like to get licensed, please contact me and we will pick a time when it would work best for you.

It will be the same for your mid-point (re-qualification) and 4 or 5 renewals.

S.A.F.E. has minimum requirements that concealed carry class students must meet to earn the “Handgun Competency Certificate” required by New Mexico Department of Public Safety for issuance of the New Mexico concealed carry license. These requirements include attendance of all classes, safe gun handling skills, a passing score as set by the Department of Public Safety on the live fire portion and our observation that you have demonstrated knowledge of New Mexico law and a willingness to always use good judgment as an armed citizen. The shooting requirements include shooting a 72% on both ranges. If, in the judgment of the instructors, you do not meet these requirements, S.A.F.E. will refund your class fees in full.

Our objectives in this class are for our students to:

Understand the importance of responsible, legal and ethical use and ownership of a firearm for self-defense
Understand New Mexico law as it relates to the carrying of a concealed firearm
Understand the importance of correct mental preparedness
Understand the importance of mental awareness and how it will relate to their lives as responsible concealed carry license holders in New Mexico
Learn techniques for:
- avoiding a criminal attack
- how to control a violent confrontation
- non-violent dispute resolution
The psychology of confrontation, the physiological reactions to an imminent threat and basic marksmanship under stress
Understand safe and responsible gun storage and child safety training
Demonstrate the fundamentals of safe gun handling and shooting proficiency to meet the state requirements

The shooting qualification is done on a target measuring 12”x18”. Fifteen shots are fired from a distance of 3 yards and 10 shots are fired from 7 yards. A student must score 72% to qualify.

We have trained approximately 1700 people in concealed handgun classes. They have included judges, assistant district attorneys, law enforcement personnel, educators, security officers and many folks who have very limited experience with firearms.
